Gen sat at the top of the canyon, staring down upon the wild herd that milled below. The lead stallion nipped at his mares and kept them in check if they ever strayed. Yearlings and pregnant mares along with older horses and horses in the prime of life consisted of the herd, and Gen loved to watch them as the waves on the nearby beach rolled by. Gen still didn't know an entrance into the canyon. Only the lead stallion of the herd and The Island Rose knew of it. Hearing a footstep, Gen jumped and nearly lost her balance. A stray pebble tumbled down into the canyon below. Withered Rose raised her head to look in the direction from where the sound had come from. Gen stood up from the cliff, making sure she didn't fall...The canyon slipped 60 feet down. A small canyon, but still a lethal fall.

Colt trotted Disaster up the canyon wall, moving gradually to the top. Disaster had calmed down a bit, and now that he was practically free he was happy. Colt held the reins lightly in his left hand, rarely using them. He rode bareback, so nothing messed up the connection between him and his stallion. He was singing softly in his thick, deep, and handsome voice. "You say you could show me how to love baby there's one thing you can be sure of I wouldn't treat you wrong cause I've been on the hurting side of pain I might not know what love is but I know what it ain't. Hmmm hmm hmmm." His voice resonated through the canyon softly, yet it almost seemed as if it belonged there, and none of the wildlife showed that they minded. He began humming lightly, as he couldn't remember the rest of the words. He kept his eyes down on the path, not looking behind to see the beautiful sunset that silohetted him and his stag against the gorgeous sky. When they reached the top of the escarpment he looked up, almost falling off Disaster backwards in suprise. He easily regained his balance and turned Disaster away, preparing to leave if the firl asked him too. "What're you doin' here?" he asked sharply, his voice cutting through the air, yet still not upsetting the animals about him. He belonged here, he was as wild as the one that inhabited the land and they knew it.

Gen smiled as if he hadn't snapped at her. Gen didn't mean anything by it...She liked Roman. That was just Gen...
Watching the horses.
She said, gesturing towards the equines milling below her. They were beautiful. Mustangs were gorgeous, not a nuisance as the nearby ranchers called them. The reason mustangs ate from their land is because they didn't have nice enough fences...They could fix that...
